For a long time, Europe felt different to me than North America. The idea of traveling across dozens of countries in a relatively small area and experiencing completely different cultures, languages, landscapes, and histories always seemed incredible. In a single trip you can go from massive glaciated peaks in the Alps, to volcanic islands, to rolling hills, rugged coastlines, and mountain ranges that have shaped cultures for thousands of years.
The more I looked into Europe’s highest points, the more interesting the challenge became. Unlike the United States or Canada, Europe creates an entirely different kind of adventure. Some countries have iconic mountaineering objectives that require technical climbing and serious preparation. Others are quiet hills, remote summits, or mountains surrounded by castles, villages, and centuries of history. The variety is what makes it exciting. Every country feels like a completely different experience.
The goal of this project is simple: reach the highest natural point in each country with territory in Europe and experience not only the mountains themselves, but also the cultures, landscapes, communities, and history that make every country unique.
